Went to the New York Times Magazine exhibition at Foam today which was really really good. There was some great conflict photography from the first and second gulf wars as well as Darfur. As you would expect there was a lot on the 9/11 coverage which was particulary touching but out of the more serious topics then the ones of the oil covered workers in the Kuwaiti oil fields were fantastic.
The Ryan McGinley work was my favourite though, and this is one of his set of MIA swinging over the city.

Oudezijds Vorburgwal. I never know if it’s two words or one and I can’t be bothered to check either.
So this is a spot on Albert CuypStraat, in De Pijp, which generally has some shit hot burgers that you put in your mouth and they then proceed to taste fairly fucking fantastic. There’s a reasonable choice of about ten burgers on the menu and you can get a burger and a drink for about the €10 mark which makes it an ok lunch. They do these sweet mini burgers as well for about the third of the price so you can get a little mix if it tickles your pickle.
Time to get all bro-ey on you. These burgers are the real fucking deal, big thick burger, good salad & sauce options and a bun that’s the right combination of soft and crusty means that you get some mean juice absorbtion.
They’ve got these pictures of cows on the walls that look like they know that you’re eating their friends and family which is a little disconcerting until you come around to it and start thinking along the lines of “fuck you you bovine shits! I’ll chomp down on you all! NOM NOM NOM!!!!”
